About Us
Health institution Polyclinic with a day hospital Medicus is located in Jelah, community of Tešanj, in the north part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was established in 1994 by the name “Private health ordination”; the name Health institution polyclinic “MEDICUS” firstly appeared in 1998. In year 2000 it moves into its own modern building specially made for providing medical services.
Polyclinic “MEDICUS” was established with the intention to unite expert knowledge and medical experience under one roof, and with the use of the most contemporary equipment to provide our patients with the best medical service.
Medicus, a modern architectural edition, was built in accordance with the principles of the World Health Association (WHO), with a modern exterior and a functional interior.
Surface of around 1400 m2 includes few medical offices, medical laboratories, rooms for interventions, intensive care, surgery hall for emergency surgeries or less demanding surgeries, two modern surgery halls, hall for before and after surgery treatment, 5 modern equipped hospital sweets, sweets for the guests, restaurant and other ancillary space.
There had been more than 50.000 patients in the polyclinic since 1998. At the moment over 3.5000 patients with local health insurance are regularly using services of the clinic.
Polyclinic has their own computer medicine program for recording, treating and tracking patients with all the data by the standards of Federation of B&H.
Polyclinic “MEDICUS” is the first private health care facility in B&H specialized in surgery, with the emphasis on the work of One Day Surgery, and it has a minimally invasive approach to treatments.
