It is for 95 years that the name Bičakčić represents a synonym for health, pioneer thinking and helping people.
The mission of clinic Bičakčić is not to fix teeth, but to return the smile on your face. With that in mind it becomes clear that we’ve chosen one of the most upright professions.
Doctor’s tradition of our family started with dr. Vejsil Bičakčić in distant 1918 when he left his home town and went to study medicine in Vienna. As one of the first students from these regions, in spite of lack of knowledge of German language, he successfully completed studying medicine. On his return to his home Sarajevo he opens than first private practice called “Ordinacija Bičakčić”. Recognizing medicine as a way to help people and not only as a job, dr. Bičakčić was equally passionate for philanthropic activities and humanitarian work.
Devotion to health and wellbeing of man is deeply rooted in all generation that came after. This tradition was continued by prim. Dr. Dževad Bičakčić, who completed the dentistry study in Ljubljana in 1960. After returning to Sarajevo he became a director of the largest and than the only dentistry state service. After that he actively engaged himself in establishing a dentistry college with clinic in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By splitting the dentistry college and dentistry clinic he performed the function of director of Dentistry clinic up until his retirement. His contributions in establishment of a Dentistry College with the clinic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and maintaining the continuity of the profession since 1924 he received a posthumously recognition of Dentistry college in Sarajevo during the celebration of 50 years of existence of the college in 2010.

What are teeth implants?
Teeth implants are the best option of replacing the loss of tooth in modern dentistry. They are made of titanium art that is implanted directly in the bone to make up for the root of the tooth. That part is the part that after the healing with the remaining bone tissue will serve as a support for the new tooth that will be made of dental material that best fits the aesthetics, position and function of the tooth.
Who is the candidate for getting teeth implants?
Loss of natural teeth with patient can cause uncertainty to talk to other people or laugh. Besides, the unhealthy bite caused by the loss of tooth can have a negative effect on the eating habits, which can in some case get to secondary health problems like malnourish, heartburn, gastritis... What is the procedure of implanting teeth implants?
Before the implantation itself, it is needed to check the state of your teeth and gums. If there are signs of a disease of gums or bleeding of teeth, it should be cured. For planning the procedure of installation of implants it is approach with detailed RCG diagnostic examination in which there is an evaluation of quality of the bone along with all anatomical structure that should be monitored during the installation of the implant.

Phases of installing implants
- Teeth implants are installed in the bone with a routine procedure. The procedure itself lasts for a short time and it is completely painless, taking the fact that it is done under local anaesthesia.
- After the installation of the implant there is a period of recovery during which the implant ossiointegrates with the bone, which usually takes about 2 do 6 months.
- After the period of recovery on the implant is set an upgrade, which serves as a support for later teeth placement.
- Month to two months later, after the strengthening of the gums, on an implant is set the final tooth.
